1. The Brantham Play Festival will take place at Brantham Village Hall. Entries will be performed at the Festival on the 30th October 2010 only. 2. The Festival is open to any amateur theatre company or group. 3. There will be a brief adjudication after three plays; the final adjudication and presentation of awards will take place after the last performance. 4. Each group will be responsible for supplying, setting and striking their own set. Ten minutes will be allowed before and after each performance to set and strike the set. BATS crew will time this. No one may place their props or set pieces until the last performers are declared clear. 5. Each group will be responsible for obtaining all furniture and properties required and for obtaining any rights from and paying all royalties due to publishers. 6. The performance must be either one complete one-act play, or an extract from a full-length play, of no longer than 45 minutes duration. 7. A fee of £20 for each entry is required to assist with administration costs. Entries together with the requisite fee should be submitted at least one month before the date of the festival. 8. Requirements for sound, lighting, etc., must also be notified at least one month in advance. An additional charge may be made if special equipment has to be hired. Any such charge will be negotiated with the group at the earliest opportunity. We expect each group to supply their own lighting and sound operators. 9. Each group is requested to provide information relating to their cast etc. for inclusion in the festival programme and a copy of the script of their entry, for use by the adjudicator, at least one month in advance. 10. No guarantees can be given as to the performance time of the play and the festival organiser’s decision will be final. Groups will be notified of the running order as soon as possible and at least two weeks prior to the festival. 11. Awards will be presented for Best Production, Best Direction, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Set, Technical Achievement, Best Newcomer, Innovation, Best Youth Performer, Best Youth Group Production, Best Costumes, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Additional awards may also be presented. 12. In accepting an award, the winner or winning group also accepts the responsibility to: have the award appropriately engraved at their own expense; keep the award safe for the intervening period; and return the award, cleaned and in good condition, within one week prior to the Festival, or the same day, if from a group performing. 13. Front of house boards will be available for the display of production photographs etc. These should be brought with you on the day and arranged on the boards by yourselves. BATS reserve the right to rearrange and, if necessary, summarise photographic displays from previous nights to equitably use available space. 14. The Festival Adjudicator’s decision will be final. 15. Brantham Amateur Theatrical Society will retain box office receipts. Tickets will be available in advance and all people who are not in the production are expected to pay for their seat. (£5, for any part or whole of the Festival)
